Lino Tagliapietra was born on the island of Murano in 1934, and began working in Archimede Seguso's glass factory at a tender age. In 1936 he became artistic and technical director at "EffeTre International". During the same period he began working with international artists; this took him to the Centre International de Recherche sur le Verre (CIRVA) in Marseilles. Tagliapietra now works mainly in the United States and Japan and his glass is on show in leading museums throughout the world.
